Sometimes a song rises to the top in the studio, and just belongs on the Title Track perch. This happened to us with “Concrete Blues”. It’a an older tune I wrote awhile back originally titled “Reclamation Blues”. Too many syllables! It’s a cool up tempo Blues/Rock tune wrapped around one of my environmental rants. I actually worked for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation back when … helping build dams! “Concert Blues” is about Dams and their impact upon western America … as an example … California has about 1300 dams in all major watersheds, except one. Many river systems contain multiple dams. In some cases, ALL the water has been taken for metropolitan areas like Los Angeles and Big scale monoculture agriculture. California has lost about 95% of its historical wetlands … habitat mainly associated with these impacted watersheds. So, thusly, “Concert Blues”. The great Tom Hambridge produced it, and in addition to his song writing and Producer prowess, he is a kick ass drummer! I really hope you like the album. We think it’s crazy good. It’ll be out mid September 13.
