A Different Vista of the Blues – A review of Randy Lee Riviere’s Concrete Blues

Randy Lee Riviere is a wildlife biologist by training and a bluesman by volition. Think of a mix of Neil Young (from his Crazy Horse days) and Ray Wylie Hubbard adorned in a western hat and hailing from Montana. His music is largely blues rock tinged with Americana and I absolutely love it!! I didn’t become aware of him until last year with the release of the Blues Sky album which I really enjoyed. He is one of those “hidden gems” that drive me to continually sit down and listen to new artists.
